The contemporary courtyard, designed by Landworks Studio, is the centerpiece of the transformation to 200 5th Avenue, a 101 year old historic building off Madison Square Park. The landscape technologies complement green architectural building practices, designed by STUDIOS Architecture, to help achieve such high LEED status. The white paving in the courtyard was introduced as a reflective surface that would bring daylight into the workspaces within. This was a joint collaboration with Concreteworks East who fabricated the bathroom vanities as well as the pavers throughout the exterior and interior lobby formed with a complicated orthogonal grid of paving joints bisected by diagonal scores and recessed, glass-covered LED lights. Concreteworks fabricated and shipped the 12' diameter planters from Oakland, California.
